A recent change in our payment processing system resulted in some customers having multiple authorization charges made against their credit cards. This alarmed many of our customers who were worried that their payment information had been compromised. Your personal information was never exposed and is completely safe and secure. However, we feel that it is important to inform you of what happened and why. Below is a letter from the president of Plazko.com addressing these recent events.


Dear Customers,

We transferred data from one PCI compliant payment processor to another.
We recently changed credit card processing companies in order to improve the quality of service that we provide. The companies that we work with are Paypal and Stripe, both reputable PCI-compliant companies. Any sensitive data was transferred directly between those two companies' using PCI compliant data transfer methods.

The data transfer resulted in Plazko.com customers having multiple accounts, which we decided to fix.
In order to have precise transaction history and account details, we consolidated all of the duplicate accounts, making several passes over the data until the redundancies were removed.

Some of you may have experienced one or more $0.00 charges being made on your credit card by Plazko.com.
We did not realize that every time we touched your account data, the new payment processing provider was running a $0 authorization on your card. We saved several of the accounts multiple times, resulting in multiple charges. For most people, this all happened in the background and had no effect. Unfortunately, others have had some issues, including having their cards being blocked by their banks due to suspicious activity.

None of your sensitive payment information has been exposed or compromised in any way.
We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards when it comes to security. Our security protocols will continue to keep all of your private data safe and secure.
