In Hopi culture, the Butterfly Dancers represent the butterflies that help pollinate life-giving corn and sacred medicinal plants. These dancers are a main part of the Butterfly Dance, which is held in late August to celebrate the new harvests.
Our tiny version in .925 sterling silver is oxidized to show the incredible detail of its butterfly headdress, boots, draped robe, and twin gourd rattles held in each outstretched hand.
