Este fuerte martillo de acero pulido a espejo tenía dos caras de trabajo planas: una con aproximadamente (52) rectángulos elevados de 1 x 2 mm en un patrón de cuadrícula y otra con (6) círculos concéntricos de 1,3 mm que irradiaban desde un centro en blanco de 5 mm. Cuando se golpea contra una lámina de metal más blanda, como plata, cobre, latón o material relleno de oro, las cabezas pueden imprimir motas hundidas o anillos concéntricos estrechos. Golpeado en diferentes ángulos, este patrón se puede superponer para lograr una mayor complejidad.
Esta es una excelente manera de crear patrones personalizados a gran escala en láminas de metal o piezas de metal prefabricadas.
