According to Greek myth, Pegasus sprang forth from drops of blood when the hero Perseus cut off Medusa's head. Together horse and hero slew fire-breathing monsters and performed other heroic deeds. Since then, winged horses have become symbols of power, stability, divine recognition, imagination, and soaring to great heights of accomplishment.
