This .925 sterling silver .8mm wide rope chain is made of oval 30 gauge round wire links interwoven through multiple connections, producing a spiral rope-like effect. It's an excellent chain for small pendants, charms, or beaded dangles.
When using this light but versatile rope chain, it's important to always connect jump rings, wire loops, and other findings to two chain links at once, instead of one (see close-up in our pictures). This continues the interconnected look of the chain, and helps improve strength at the join. This may mean using a larger circular or oval jump ring, to cover the distance. With very fine chain requiring 28 gauge jump rings, it may be necessary to create a wire-wrapped loop connector instead of using an open jump ring.
Note: fine chain can be fragile, so treat it with care to help avoid crushing or breakage.
